Navigate in license plate restricted zones

Allow Waze to automatically suggest routes you're eligible to drive on based on license plate authorization.

Using Waze in your car? Adjust your settings on your phone. They'll apply when you use Waze in your car. If you're using Android Auto or CarPlay, make sure to disconnect your phone first.

  1. Open Waze
  2. Tap
  3. Tap Settings
  4. Tap Navigation
  5. Tap License plate restriction
  6. Enter the last 2 digits of your car's license plate

Waze will automatically guide you based on your city's road rationing policy.

During restriction time, alternative routes will always show at least one route that bypasses the restricted roads.

Check feature availability 

You can navigate in license plate restricted zones in:
  • Brazil - São Paulo
  • Colombia - Bogota, Bucaramanga, Cali, Medellín, Popayan, and Villavicencio 
  • Costa Rica - San José
  • Ecuador - Quito
  • Indonesia - Jakarta
  • Peru - Arequipa and Lima

Note: New countries may be added to the list from time to time, according to specific country regulations.
