Create or update your password

Once you connect an email address to your Waze account, you can log in without a password. If you prefer to sign in with a username and password, you can set your username and then create a password.

Using Waze in your car? Create or update your password on your phone. If you're using Android Auto or CarPlay, make sure to disconnect your phone first.

  1. Open Waze
  2. Tap
  3. Tap Settings
  4. Tap Account and login
  5. Tap Password
  6. Enter your password
  7. Tap Save

Tip: You can save your sign-in credentials with Google or Apple features.

How do I recover my password?

If you forgot your password, you can reset it by email.

  1. Go to the reset password page
  2. Enter the email address connected to your Waze account
  3. Click Send email
  4. Open the email account that you entered in the reset password page
  5. Look for an email from Waze
  6. Open the email and tap the link that says “To reset your password click here”
  7. Enter your new password
  8. Tap Submit

If you didn’t get an email from Waze:

  • Check for typos in your email address
  • Try another email address

Still not getting an email from Waze?

It's likely that you didn't add an email address to your Waze account. In that case, create a new Waze account with your Google account or an email address.
