Educational and craft activities for kids and parents

We finally finished our solar system! Yeah! Simple fun science art project. Used regular craft paints and styrofoam half spheres from Hobby Lobby. We used hot glue to attach them to the wall. Painted the sun rays and used sharpie markers for the labels. Easy and awesome!!

Alien ship - plastic pool

So I love making my classroom my home each year. But somehow I fell way behind the ball this year and it is just starting to look habitable. We've had kids for two days already so luckily they don't seem to mind the unfinished parts. Anyway- I went with a space theme. Here is the view from my door. The Solar System display board in our classroom. The boys made the planets and Sun (the ones who aren't too good with pencil crayons did the cutty sticky Sun :)) We know Pluto isn't a full planet, but it fits with the mnemonics.
