Scandinavian Modern teak secretaire by Gunnar Falsig 1960s. Mid-century Modern Danish secretaire with curved front. Very elegant and versatile, both a writing desk and a chest of drawers. Manufactured by Holstebro Møbelfabrik aka Falsig Møbelfabrik, Denmark. This secretaire is sometimes attributed to Arne Vodder who may have designed it for Falsig. Three wide drawers with turned pulls in solid teak under the pull out desk. Above the desk is a compartment behind double sliding glass doors with etching. Four small drawers with integrated pulls. Open shelf on top. Standing on round tapered legs. Height from floor to underside of desk is 70.5 cm. Very good mid-century quality and craftsmanship with dovetail joints in every drawer. Teak veneer with a beautiful warm hue. Functional and versatile. Suitable for many purposes in both living room, guest room or small office. Very good original condition with light patina consistent with age and use. Veneer loss to the inside of one top drawer. Cleaned and polished. Ready for use.
