The ladies of And Just Like That… are about to be joined by another New Yorker who loves to talk. (We’re not sure how she feels about high heels, though.)
Rosie O’Donnell has joined the Season 3 cast of Max‘s Sex and the City continuation, TVLine has confirmed. The actress and comedian first revealed the news on Instagram, sharing a photo of the season premiere script. The episode is titled “Outlook Good” and written and directed by showrunner Michael Patrick King, and O’Donnell revealed that her character’s name is Mary.
And Just Like That…, with stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis reprising their Sex and the City roles, was renewed for Season 3 last August. Since then, though, there’s been a mini cast exodus, with Sara Ramírez leaving the show as Che Diaz in February and Karen Pittman (aka Nya Wallace) following suit a month later. Season 3 isn’t expected to debut on Max until next year.
O’Donnell, best known for movie roles like A League of Their Own and Sleepless in Seattle and her long-running daytime talk show in the ’90s, has made quite a few appearances on the small screen in recent years. She co-starred on the Showtime dramedy SMILF and played Rita on The Fosters, along with a role on The L Word: Generation Q. Her other TV credits include American Gigolo, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Drop Dead Diva.

Geez, they finally get rid of one ass-wart and then hire another. 😤
Oh good. EVEN MORE reason to never watch!
Let me see… watch Rosie O’Donnell or shave my legs with a rusty blade and use gasoline for lotion? I suppose I’d better at least spring for premium!
I hate to add to the pile….but come on! Rosie?! I love her. But not for this show. Have TPTB ever watched the original series? Just do more of that.
Well interesting that Sara Ramirez was so vocal about being let go for her pro pal beliefs ( which were def antisemitic) and yet they hired Rosie who also has similar views. So Sara can now rest easy knowing Che was just a terrible character
I kinda loved Che for being just a horrible person. We need villains.
Wow…out of all the guest stars to cast the showrunners think of Rosie?!
I like Rosie’s acting, but I’m not sure this fits with the show… that said, it could be really great! She has great comedic timing and does well with the dramatic stuff. It will truly just depend on the character they write for her.
So glad Rosie is joining to ensure that this is the last season…
And just like that … Is a prime example of why revivals of iconic shows should not be done, they only work 1% of the time.
Oh, THAT will makes the ratings rise.
.
Not.
Now this show has a new level of unwatchability.
Wow, it’s like they’re actively trying to make a terrible show.
Why did TV Line remove the MeTV Toons article? In fact, all websites, with the exception of The Desk, removed the article altogether. The Desk won’t remove it, it seems.
Oh God! NO!!!!!!!!
With Rosie being so polarizing and this show needing all the good PR it can get, this casting news is kinda head scratching. Slim chance that her scenes won’t bring out negative reactions.
But they will bring out some sort of reaction and that’s what the show wants.
I have never seen the show or its origins. I might just tune in with RO as a cast member.
😬 <——— how she smiles.
I like Rosie but if they bring her on make her Miranda’s love interest I am out.
If they bring her on to make her Miranda’s neighbor even, I am out.
Not sure I can go forward and watch this!! 😡😡😡😡 now with Rosie!
