Meet Margo’s dad.
Nick Offerman has joined Apple TV+’s upcoming adaptation of Margo’s Got Money Troubles as the title character’s father, TVLine has learned.
Offerman will play Jinx. As previously reported, Michelle Pfeiffer will play Margo’s mom, Shyanne.
Based on Rufi Thorpe’s novel of the same name, the eight-episode series follows Margo Millet (played by The Great‘s Elle Fanning), the child of a Hooters waitress and a former pro wrestler, whose affair with a college English professor results in a pregnancy at age 20. Alone with an infant, unemployed and on the verge of eviction, Margo forms a plan — to start an OnlyFans as an experiment, adapting some of her father’s advice from the world of wrestling to “craft” a compelling character that the audience will fall in love with.
Nicole Kidman also is part of the series’ cast, though details about her character are being kept under tight wraps.
David E. Kelley (Big Little Lies, Ally McBeal) will serve as showrunner and executive producer. Pfeiffer, Elle Fanning, Dakota Fanning, Brittany Kahan Ward, Matthew Tinker, Eva Anderson and Thorpe also will executive-produce.
Offerman is best known as Parks and Recreation‘s acerbic Ron Swanson, a role he played throughout the NBC comedy’s seven-season run. His other TV work includes The Umbrella Academy, A League of Their Own, Devs, Good Omens and Fargo. In addition, his guest-star stint on a Season 1 episode of The Last of Us earned him an Emmy in 2023.
