About us

Entrepreneur First invests in exceptional individuals to build startups from scratch. We bring together talented outliers to develop their most ambitious ideas and raise money from the world’s best investors. Since pioneering Talent Investing in 2014, we’ve learned to recognize individuals with extraordinary futures before anyone else, embedding them in a community of ambitious peers and giving them the tools they need to succeed, fast. We back them before they have a company, a team, even before they have an idea, based purely on talent. The startups cofounded on our programs are now worth over $10B, and include Tractable, Magic Pony Technology, Cleo, La Vie, Aztec, Sonantic, and many more. EF is backed by some of the world's leading founders and investors, including Patrick and John Collison (Stripe); Reid Hoffman (LinkedIn), Tom Blomfield (GoCardless and Monzo), Sara Clemens (Whatnot and Twitch); Demis Hassabis (Google Deepmind); and Matt Mullenweg (Wordpress). We exist to make great companies happen that otherwise wouldn’t. For more information about Entrepreneur First, visit www.joinef.com We're hiring! Would you rather join a hackathon (i) on a military base or (ii) in a high-rise building overlooking the Eiffel Tower (and Notre-Dame)? This past weekend, Entrepreneur First brought together over 60 ambitious builders for two exceptional hackathons. 𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐇𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐧 Over 30 participants convened at the 54th military regiment's base near Strasbourg to tackle cutting-edge challenges in electronic warfare. Their projects focused on teletransmissions, advanced sensors, and navigation systems - addressing technologies for interception, localization, and jamming. The experience was fully immersive, with participants sleeping in dorms and sampling military rations. 𝐁𝐢𝐨 𝐱 𝐀𝐈 𝐇𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐧 Meanwhile, in a high-rise with breathtaking views of Paris, another 30 builders collaborated on frontier challenges in bioinformatics and AI. Sponsored and guided by mentors from the most innovative companies in the field (:probabl., Theremia, Owkin, Raidium and InstaDeep), participants tackled problems such as upscaling histopathology images, securing DNA data storage, and developing breakthrough AI solutions for incurable diseases. At EF, we bring together the most ambitious builders of their generation to solve the world's most difficult problems at scale. Are you ready to join our next cohort? If so, DM me.

The first application deadline for EF's April 2025 cohort is fast approaching: Friday 8th December. This Spring, I had the privilege of working with truly remarkable founders on EF’s cohort. They moved fast and are now building transformative companies, backed by Tier 1 investors. If you’ve spent time at the cutting edge of a domain as a technologist or operator and believe you have the potential to build an extraordinary technology, we'd love to hear from you. I’m particularly keen to connect with women and individuals from underrepresented groups ready to take the leap into founding. If you think you could be a great fit—or know someone who would—please reach out to me via a DM.

Top 3 teams below: 🥇 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐞: Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses for the visually impaired – enabling users to be aware of their surroundings, detect obstacles, and interpret sign language. Kudos to Anton Zhulkovskiy, Adrien Ropartz, and Darius Chitoroaga 🥈 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐞: Next-gen news website with integrated prediction markets - designed to provide actionable insights, engage users in predicting outcomes, and cut through misinformation. Hats off to Suhas Hariharan, Daniel Pointon, George Ghetiu, and John Kelly 🫡 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Platform that uses ML to predict glucose levels for diabetics, and integrated with WhatsApp to provide real-time, personalised predictions - eliminating the need for constant app checks, frequent insulin injections, and finger pricking. Great work by Emilio Garcia Padron, Charles Calzia, Seth Mack, and Tom Smail A big thank you to our judges Chris Mairs CBE and Tracy Doree for their valuable time and feedback, and well done to all participants! Last weekend, the Entrepreneur First team co-hosted Europe's largest Defense Tech Hackathon in Paris, which brought together 170+ participants and yielded 34 projects. Two familiar faces from the EF community stood out among the winning teams: - Yoan Di Cosmo, a Talent Investor intern at EF, secured 2nd place with his team. Their innovative project centered on magnetic navigation for submarine drones, highlighting the potential for precision and autonomy in underwater exploration. - Adhémar de Senneville, a founder in EF’s W24 program, and his team won 3rd place for their ambitious anti-helicopter mine project, aimed at addressing aerial threats. Talent and creativity were on full display throughout the hackathon, showcasing how teamwork can spark bold, new ideas. At EF, we are committed to backing exceptional talent leveraging cutting-edge technology to tackle the world’s biggest challenges. We are now actively recruiting for our next cohort, starting in April. If you are interested in applying, DM me.
