In August, severe floods in #Bangladesh destroyed over 300,000 homes. Saleha’s family lost everything, including their home and livestock. With three young children, an elderly father to care for, and a husband earning just 220 taka a day - less than £1 - they can’t afford to rebuild their home. Saleha's home is unstable and unsafe. She fears for their children’s safety, with a risk of collapse as well as snake and insect infestations. They have been forced to share sanitation facilities with their neighbours, and Saleha's daughter can't attend school due to the family’s financial struggles. Saleha says, "If I could earn money, then my husband’s burden will reduce, and together we can manage our family."
