There might be a scarcity scare about talent and skills, but strip mining the existing global workforce won't solve the problem, "you can't hire your way out of a skills gap." I've been thinking about the fake science of alchemy and the real lab science required to develop industrial strength gems. Alchemy has not yet yielded us gold, but we have figured out how to grow diamonds in the lab since the 1950s! Developing our people for the skills we need is a much more sustainable, economic and industrial approach to closing the gap.
