Seed Savers Exchange, or SSE, is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving various heirloom lines of seeds. It collects lists of seeds from its members and publishes their contact information in catalogues, which are distributed to those members so they may request seeds from each other.

It was founded in 1975 by Kent Whealy and his wife, and is reputed to have preserved many lines of seeds, an obvious example being the rediscovery of the Brandywine tomato, among the most popular breeds in the United States, considered by some to be the best tasting of all tomatoes.
