Founded in London in 1983 by Czech refugees Alexander Goldscheider and Ondřej Kořínek, it made and sold primarily via mail order utility based products for home computers, such as programs Trans-Express, Music Typewriter, Genie, Insider, Lifeguard and Rodos for the Sinclair ZX Spectrum and Amstrad CPC and hardware peripheral interfaces Multiface[1] One[2], Multiface 128[3], Multiface 3[4], Multiprint[5] and Videoface[6] for the Sinclair ZX Spectrum, Multiface Two[7] for the Amstrad CPC and Multiface ST for the Atari ST. It also published a game Wriggler[8] for the ZX Spectrum and Enterprise (computer).
After Ondřej Kořínek left the company in 1990, Romantic Robot UK Ltd continued as Romantic Robot changing its direction towards music production and publishing. It released a seminal double-CD Terezín: The Music 1941-44, followed by Aaron Copland: An American in Prague[9] and Alexander Goldscheider’s own CDs, such as Stabat Mater[10] and The Song of Songs[11].
