DescriptionVacancy by multiple ionization in a crystal.png
English: The process of a vacancy creation by multiple ionization. A photon hits a negative halide ion (-), ionizing it twice and thus it becomes a positive ion (+). The postive halide ion is unstable and moves through the lattice, leaving a vacancy. This can lead to an F center.
