Chad Michael Murray Wants to Reunite with “Freaky Friday ”Costar Lindsay Lohan Again — but This Time for a Holiday Film (Exclusive)
Chad Michael Murray and Lindsay Lohan's relationship has come "full circle" with the upcoming release of their Freaky Friday sequel, Freakier Friday. But Murray doesn't want their renewed onscreen partnership to end there.
"If we had the opportunity, it'd be great," Murray tells PEOPLE during a recent interview about potentially working with Lohan on a holiday movie in the future.
Both Murray, 43, and Lohan, 38, had Christmas Netflix movies come out this winter. Murray's, The Merry Gentlemen, was released on Nov. 20. Lohan's film, Our Little Secret, started streaming on Nov. 27.

"What a trip," Murray says. "For us to be able to come back together at this time where we just got done filming a movie [Freakier Friday], and now here we are both celebrating two Christmas movies at the same place, with Netflix, and they're a week or two away from each other, is pretty cool."
Murray and Lohan filmed Freakier Friday over the summer. For the film, both will reprise their roles, with original star Jamie Lee Curtis also returning as Lohan's character Anna's mom Tess. It's set for release on Aug. 8, 2025.

"The opportunity to see someone that, gosh — even though we've been in and out each other's lives, we've still known each other 20-something years, right?" says Murray of reteaming with Lohan. "And to watch growth, and to see her with her little boy, and to meet her husband and just to share those experiences now that we're grown adults, it's really special. There's something very full circle about all these moments."

Which is why the actor would be very on board with a chance to work together once more — especially for a holiday film, of which both have made several in the past few years.
"Yeah, if we had the opportunity, it'd be great, because we could — I was in and out, and we were kind of all over the place when we were doing Freaky Friday 2 — so to be able to sit down and do something where it was just her and I carrying the world and both our families can come to set, it would be a really beautiful thing."
