After analyzing search volumes around 100 influential celebrity weddings from the past 100 years, experts at the Chapel of the Flowers, a Las Vegas wedding venue, determined that Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s 2022 nuptials at the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas was the most Googled celebrity wedding of 2023. Their civil ceremony received an average of 99,755 average monthly searches.

The runner up was another wedding from 2022, Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker’s. Although the reality star and the Blink-182 drummer officially wed at a courthouse in Santa Barbara, California, their destination celebration in Portofino was the one that generated the most intrigue, with 78,270 average monthly searches.

The following three most popular searches were all royal weddings. Queen Elizabeth II and Philip Mountbatten’s affair at Westminster Abbey came in third place with 47,630 monthly searches. Next up was King Charles II and Princess Diana’s 1981 nuptials at St. Paul’s Cathedral, which received 45,351 average monthly searches. Finally, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s 2018 wedding at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle generated 37,466 average monthly searches.

This research suggests that the public was fascinated by celebrity couples who threw multiple weddings, which both Lopez and Affleck and Kardashian and Barker did. These weddings might have also been on the forefront of individuals’ minds since they dominated headlines at various times, which isn’t typically the case when a celebrity couple has just one celebration. According to the results, individuals are also interested in British royal weddings across the board, even the ones that happened decades ago. “It’s evident that there is space for both smaller-scale weddings and more opulent weddings, with a mix of Las Vegas ceremonies and grand royal weddings making the top 10,” a spokesperson for Chapel of the Flowers concluded.
