I spoke at the Amuse / Craft Conference in October this year about User Fudged Experiences and what happens when users improvise with our products or services, usually in an unexpected and hacky way. The talk revealed how you can use user-fudged experiences to discover what your users are trying to accomplish, explore user perception, spot examples of design affordances in the physical world and how you can apply these to your digital product.
