Good morning, all - I'm in limbo land - I recently moved over to a 3rd Gen Nest Thermostat from a Honeywell unit. All "seemed" to be going well until the breaker began tripping intermittently, and now I have REAL concerns b/c I'm smelling a burning odor and the breaker panel is HOT! Hoping someone from this community can help me quickly resolve my issue. Thank you in advance.
Context:
Trane Furnace
Air-to-air heat pump
1 stage cool/2 stage heat (heat pump & electric)
3rd gen Nest Thermostat

I'm not seeing a way to upload reference photos of the wiring layout - before and after - can someone jump in to assist? Thanks community!

I’ve programmed * for emergency heating. Was x2 in prior wiring arrangement on Honeywell unit.
The breaker keeps tripping and I’m hoping that this community can help me understand what I may or maybe not be doing properly with the Nest wiring. Thanks again!
