Tuesday
Hello,
I am trying to install a new Thermostat that I bought from Google store in 2024 Thanksgiving sale. I currently have a 3rd generation best thermostat installed with 5 wires. They are labeled differently than what this new Nest thermostat requires. I am sending a screenshot of the old one and the new one. Can someone please tell me which wires from old thermostat go to the which wires in the new thermostat?
I will appreciate it.
Old Thermostat-
Y1 - Yellow, G - Green, W1 - White, C - Blue, Rh - Red.
New Thermostat-
Y, C, W, G, R, *OB
Is my assumption correct that, old labeled wire from Y1 goes to new Labeled Y?
old labeled wire from G goes to new Labeled G?
old labeled wire from W1 goes to new labeled W?
Old labeled wire from C goes to new labeled C?
Old labeled wire from Rh goes to new labeled R?
Thank you!

So you went from a Nest Learning Thermostat to the Nest Thermostat. So yes you correct.
Y1 to Y
W1 to W
G to G
C to C

Thanks for the response, AC Cooling Wizard.
I tried to do that and configure it through Google Home app. Initially it was throwing error, saying that the Red and Blue wires are not connected. So then I took it all out and shut down my main electric connection and then plug it back in again. Now the error is not showing, however, its still not letting me configure the Nest Thermostat. Any idea what could be the issue? I want to share the screenshot, but I dont see any option to share an image here..
Thank you!
