Studied English Literature at Trinity Hall, Cambridge University. During her studies she was a member of the Footlights Comedy Club and toured in the award-winning revue "Far Too Happy" which she also co-wrote.

Gave birth to her 1st child at age 33, a daughter named Maud Elizabeth Daphne Marina Windsor on August 15, 2013 who is 42nd in line to the British throne. Child's father is her husband, Lord Frederick Windsor.

In December 2017, Sophie Winkleman was involved in a terrifying accident whilst on the way home from work, after an oncoming car swerved into hers to avoid a deer. She was left with serious injuries from the crash, sustaining a broken back, foot, and internal injuries.

Sophie was nominated for the BBC Best Newcomer award for her performance in 'Waking the Dead'.

Her first daughter, Maud, who was born at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, and her second daughter, Isabella, was born at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

Is a Soprano.
