The viewers of this movie have no chance of figuring out what and who's behind everything that happens. You've no idea of who the bad guy is until the last scene, although you can sort of figure it out anyway, because as the end is approaching, you think that if they're going to give you an explanation at all, it must be that explanation. But the motive and the villain's feelings aren't explained good enough, though. There's nothing really upsetting or frightening or anything that makes you think and reflect in this movie. There's actually no point with it at all and it's only an excuse to show Lesley-Anne Down walking around looking nervous, troubled or scared. Which she is quite good at, though.
I really loved this movie, the characters are great and actually what I think are Polish stereotypes (have no idea of how true that image is, though). The traditional Polish music that was played in the background helped creating the right mood. Claire Danes glides around looking gorgeous (especially her hair!) and Lena Olin looks very Polish. The script could perhaps have been a little better and sort of gone deeper into the story, but still, it's a very enjoyable movie that I would recommend.
