Also, even though most established companies will implement new features in Kotlin and Swift, a lot of them will have older features in Java and Objective-C, but I wouldn't say it's required to learn.

Generally, the minute you go cross platform (mono in .net, or dart/flutter, or gcc and cmake) expect there to be trade offs like speed. Sometime back in a cross-platform app project, I faced a puzzling problem. A third-party plugin worked perfectly on one platform but crashed on another. It was baffling. Turned out, this plugin had quirks for each platform. I had to dive into its code to see why. I discovered what was causing the issues on the troublesome platform. The fix? Customising the code to match each platform's needs. It was extra work, but it saved the product launch. In cross-platform development, know how libraries behave on each platform. It might mean more work, but it's vital for a stable app. We solved the compatibility problem and delivered a reliable app. We later replaced the library in subsequent release as it was not a recommended approach.
