Design is design and the more you know the topic or the more contrast is in the core the better, this will lead you to better results because you have seen both sides of the coin! Relate topics, find similar threads, having in mind always the final client and target as a top! Design is not a matter of personal taste at least you are creating a product of "marketing experience" like Apple for instance.
