AIDPH is excited to announce that we’re switching our upcoming Colloquium to a fully-virtual format! Join us on March 4 and 5, 2025, for our new and improved Colloquium. You’ll get the same insightful discussions, meaningful connections, and live opportunities to share your work and research — all from the comfort of your home or office! Registration link: https://shorturl.at/TUMia In going virtual, we hope we can make this event more accessible to a broader audience, regardless of any travel or lodging restraints, and more affordable, ensuring stakeholders from every background are able to have a seat at the table and make a stand for this year’s theme of Dental Care as a Human Right. We’ve shifted the date from Feb 19 to 20th to March 4 and 5 to ensure you can still attend without conflicting with other events. We can’t wait to see you at this year’s Colloquium! Back in August, Brooke Hohfeld, Co-Executive Director of Texas Advocates, joined the Coalition of Texans with Disabilities and AIDPH in a moving discussion on Nontraditional Partners and Creating Legislative Champions. We covered topics including tokenism and ableism, how to center people with lived experiences in disability advocacy, and the successful model employed in Texas by CTD and Texas Advocates to secure committed legislative champions. In recognizing that Tuesday was International Day of Persons with Disabilities, we felt Brooke's comments were particularly impactful. What does disability representation mean for you? Dental and public health advocates still have a valuable opportunity TODAY to support AIDPH’s mission of advancing justice and equity in oral health by donating to https://loom.ly/3ThvMUc. #GivingTuesday is one of the most important fundraising days for #nonprofits around the nation. By making a donation to AIDPH, you’ll help raise a voice for communities that have been silenced in oral health, and make a personal contribution toward meaningful advocacy, educational, and research initiatives. Today, we invite you to consider: 🌟 Setting up a $20 monthly recurring donation to support advocacy for veteran, LGBTQIA+, rural, and disability communities. 🌟 Giving a one-time gift of $50 or more to support research, education, and advocacy that advances oral health justice for historically excluded and marginalized communities. 🌟 Sharing our donation page (https://loom.ly/3ThvMUc) with your friends and colleagues to amplify our impact.

Now is not the time for silence. Transgender people are our friends, our familiy members, our neighbors, and our community — and threats of violence, murder, and suicide against the transgender community are only expected to rise in a country that has increasingly subjected them to openly hostile policies and rhetoric. It's the responsibility of public health workers and organizations to take a clear stand: that a patient's safety and dignity, no matter their gender identity, is never conditional. As a nonprofit dedicated to improving LGBTQIA+ oral health access, AIDPH recognizes everyone we've lost to transphobic violence, and urges our allies and partners to do the same. https://loom.ly/wPd6rN4 #transdayofremembrance #transgender #trans
