How will AI improve revenue cycle management for healthcare in 2025? 🤔 That's the question Health IT Answers asked health tech and revenue cycle leaders. Here's what Amy Raymond answered: 2025 will mark a pivotal year for generative AI (GenAI) in the healthcare revenue cycle. This technology is no longer just a concept discussed at conferences. Innovative healthcare organizations are already implementing it and seeing results. 📈 The link to the full list of predictions is in the comments 👇 Answers Media Network

🎸 “𝙂𝙪𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙞𝙖𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙇𝙚𝙙𝙜𝙚𝙧” 🎸 This week, the AKASA team hosted a discussion for executives at the Becker's Healthcare CEO + CFO Roundtable. To demonstrate the capabilities of generative AI technology, they used ChatGPT to write a heavy metal song about healthcare CFOs. We hope you love it as much as the attendees did! (Verse 1) In the halls of hospitals, the numbers roar, The chaos brews, the costs soar, A maze of rules, an endless game, But the CFO rides to tame the flame! With spreadsheets sharp, a blade of steel, He fights through codes, he makes the deal, With every charge and every fee, He’s the hero of the economy! (Chorus) Guardian of the Ledger, the healer of the cost, Standing strong in the tempest, where others would be lost! He faces the future with a data-powered eye, In the shifting paradigms, he’ll ride till he dies! (Verse 2) From manual work to AI’s grace, A brave new world we all must face, Automation’s here, the robots grind, But the CFO won’t be left behind. He leads the charge through the digital storm, Defending balance sheets, transforming norms He’s the last line between red and green, In the shadows, he reigns unseen. (Chorus) Guardian of the Ledger, the healer of the cost, Standing strong in the tempest, where others would be lost! He faces the future with a data-powered eye, In the shifting paradigms, he’ll ride till he dies! (Bridge - Guitar Solo) (Screaming guitar riff, echoing the CFO’s journey through the data labyrinth) (The CFO’s laser focus cuts through a storm of riffs and digital beats) (Verse 3) Now the tables turn, the systems change, With AI’s help, we can rearrange, Efficiency rises, and errors fade, The CFO’s vision, a future made. From revenue to patient care, Through every shift, he’s always there, A healthcare hero, bold and true, He fights for all—the team and you! (Chorus - Extended) Guardian of the Ledger, the healer of the cost, Standing strong in the tempest, where others would be lost! The CFO, our titan, both cunning and wise, Through the shifting paradigms, he’ll forever rise! (Outro) Guardian of the Ledger… Forever… brave… In the battle of healthcare, the ledger he’ll save! We love connecting with industry leaders and sharing how generative AI can help teams. Thanks, Becker's Healthcare, for hosting yet another great CEO + CFO Roundtable. 👏 And thanks to the many executives who attended our session. We enjoyed chatting with you.
It was a highlight to host a roundtable discussion today at Becker's Healthcare CEO CFO Roundtable on the promise of Generative AI (GenAI) for healthcare financial operations. Some key themes I took away: 1️⃣ Curiosity Meets Caution: Many have tried ChatGPT in personal use, but few have integrated it within their health systems’ financial operations. This gap between curiosity and real-world application reflects the cautious, methodical approach of healthcare leaders. 2️⃣ Gains in Time, Not Yet in Dollars: For those who are piloting GenAI, improvements are being seen in reducing time and administrative burden. However, hard financial benefits remain elusive. 3️⃣ Real Potential in Targeted Applications: There's excitement around starting to apply GenAI to coding, documentation, prior authorization, and denials. People at my table shared that these areas may offer quick wins and face fewer internal barriers, which could accelerate adoption. And we had a chuckle at our ChatGPT-generated song incorporating inputs from the participants —“Guardian of the Ledger”—saluting the CFOs who tirelessly drive innovation and protect their organizations’ financial health: 🎶 Guardian of the Ledger, the healer of the cost, Standing strong in the tempest, where others would be lost! The CFO, our titan, both cunning and wise, Through the shifting paradigms, she’ll forever rise! 🎶 Always inspiring meeting with healthcare leaders and working across our AKASA team. 🏁 "We’ve arrived at a rare frontier moment for healthcare today. LLMs have created key leverage points to chip away at some of the industry’s biggest logjams." "Healthcare, an industry steeped in risk aversion, has historically been highly resistant to change. For good reason. The consequences of getting it wrong are severe in human terms, unlike in other sectors where rapid experimentation might be tolerated (or preferred). What makes this moment in history different? An ability to ingest, understand, and link fragmented structured and unstructured data with AI. Software can now tackle operationally intensive and detail oriented tasks across critical healthcare processes: documentation, coding, billing, data management and more, and start automating larger chunks of bottlenecked workflows."
