All Tech Is Human
Think Tanks
Together, we work to solve tech and society’s thorniest issues.
About us
All Tech Is Human is building a better approach for tackling thorny tech & society issues that surface values, tensions, trade-offs, and best practices. Our non-profit organization does this through collective understanding, involvement, and action around our three key workstreams of community-building, education, and careers. We have created a unique agnostic network that unites stakeholders across civil society, government, industry, and academia. This directly leads to a more cohesive Responsible Tech ecosystem promoting knowledge-sharing and collaboration, illuminates pathways for a diverse range of backgrounds to participate, and is agile enough to move at the speed of tech. Our secret sauce is our ability to involve not only subject matter experts and influential change agents, but also a broad mixture of individuals typically left out of the process. This provides the ability to fully understand the impact of technology, diagnose its causes and potential pathways for improvement, and affect various levers of change related to policy, education, and workforce makeup of the nascent Responsible Tech ecosystem. Popular programs for All Tech Is Human include our Slack community of over 10k members across 100 countries, regular in-person gatherings (NYC, DC, SF, London), a large mentorship program, regular livestream series, and a popular Responsible Tech Job Board with a related talent pool of thousands, and our influential Responsible Tech Guide. Key areas of focus include Responsible AI, Trust & Safety, and Public Interest Technology. Together, we tackle the world’s thorniest tech & society issues and co-create a tech future aligned with the public interest. Heading into 2025, what is the Responsible AI landscape, what’s missing, and what might the future development of the field look like? We're revisiting a great discussion between Dr. Rumman Chowdhury (HumaneIntelligence), Rob Reich, and Sinead Bovell at our Responsible Tech Summit held in September in NYC. https://lnkd.in/ebEqpytz #ResponsibleAI #ResponsibleTech #AllTechIsHuman

In light of the $1.2 billion lawsuit against Apple for not appropriately curtailing harms against children, it is a good time to revisit our recent fireside chat between Julie Inman - Grant (eSafety Commissioner) and Marija Manojlovic (Safe Online) we held in NYC in September as part of our joint gathering with Safe Online. https://lnkd.in/eJ7JMgSX This year we worked alongside Thorn to release a white paper, Safety by Design for Generative AI, along with a recent paper we released on Balancing Privacy and Child Safety in Encrypted Environments (with authors Theodora Skeadas, Matthew Soeth, and Anne Collier). You can find these resources in the comments. #AllTechIsHuman #ResponsibleTech #SafetyByDesign

Honored to have moderated a thought-provoking discussion on the future of Trust & Safety w/ panelists Tracy Chou (CEO of Block Party), Paul Ash (CEO of Christchurch Call Foundation), and Ashkhen Kazaryan (Senior Fellow, Free Speech & Peace at Stand Together). You can watch the video in the comments. How will the field of Trust & Safety evolving in the coming years? That was a central question we dug into, as it is also being widely discussed throughout the Responsible Tech community. This conversation was part of Project Liberty's recent Summit on the Future of the Internet that was held in Washington, DC, where All Tech Is Human was a community partner. #ResponsibleTech #TrustAndSafety
