We'd like to congratulate the Arrowhead EMS Association in receiving a $5 million Federal grant as a part of the U.S. Department of Transportation's Safe Streets For All (SS4A) initiative to improve post-crash care in rural communities. As a part of Minnesota's NorthEast Advancement of Rural and Remote Emergency Medical Services (NEARR-EMS), this program will provide a total of 15 agencies with our EMS telemedicine services. This will connect Northeast Minnesota EMTs and paramedics with our board-certified physicians, paramedics, and nurses for peer-to-peer support in the field or during transport.   "EMS teams have longer distances between EMS hubs and few-to-no nearby specialty centers available, resulting in increased response and transport times. Two years ago we implemented our EMS services into rural communities across the state. With over 80% of South Dakota’s ambulance services staffed by volunteers, we are proud to be their partner in ensuring every patient has access to high quality healthcare, regardless of location.
