📽 Check out this short video we produced on Connecticut's unspoken crisis. These young people exist in every city and town in our state. Until we acknowledge this is a crisis, we cannot take the steps necessary to begin solving it. 🌟 https://lnkd.in/egWWk9mb

Helping young people get back on track
About us
Founded by Barbara Dalio, Dalio Education collaborates with educators, schools, nonprofit organizations, and communities across Connecticut to engage young people and achieve positive youth outcomes. Our approach is grounded in direct engagement with young people, educators, youth development professionals, community leaders, and other experts. We believe that people who are most impacted by the challenges in our education system understand them best and have the perspectives and knowledge needed to make real change. By listening, learning, and acting on insights, we work in collaboration with our partners to find and amplify successful practices and help turn promising ideas into reality for Connecticut’s young people, investing more than $150 million since 2015. Dalio Education created the Connecticut Opportunity Project (CTOP) as a social investment fund to invest in and help strengthen non-profit organizations in Connecticut serving youth who are severely off-track or disconnected from school and employment. In addition, Dalio Education founded the Connecticut RISE Network as a nonprofit organization to facilitate improvement networks across schools and districts to ensure students graduate with a plan and the skills and confidence to achieve college and career success.

✨ Check out the powerful op-ed by Ramellea Menns, Community Advisory Group member for Connecticut’s Unspoken Crisis: Elevating the Voices of Young People report published earlier this year. ✨ 💡 The op-ed reminds us of a critical truth: to create meaningful change, we must listen to young people directly—their stories, their dreams, and their struggles. 💪 Young leaders like Ramellea are stepping up, envisioning a future where no one is left behind, and showing us the path forward. 🙌 Her call to action is clear: provide the tools and coordinated support necessary to help young people overcome systemic challenges and fulfill their potential. It's time to stop the cycle of disconnection and start building systems that work for everyone. 💬 How will you help ensure the next generation has the opportunities they deserve? 📰 Read this inspiring story and learn how we can create a future rooted in equity, opportunity, and justice. 💖 We're inspired by the young people who courageously shared their experiences and insights on Connecticut’s Unspoken Crisis. 🗣️ Erica Soares, in particular, has been an outstanding advocate for her community. Her vision of a system designed to support all of Connecticut's youth and lead them to successful futures aligns with the findings of our recent "Elevating Voices" study. 🙌 💡 By listening to those most affected, we can create more effective, targeted solutions for our young people.

One of the pieces of work I am most proud of leading in my career… Our research study sharing the experience of more than 70 youth aged 14-26 who have experienced disconnection from school and work, diving into the many systems (e.g. education, juvenile justice, housing, child welfare, health) young people interact with and how to strengthen them. An example of research that has been used to inform youth-centered policies and practices.
