Last week, Driscoll's hosted two book readings of our award-winning children's book "A Sofia Special" in our growing region of Oxnard. These events were part of a nationwide book reading tour with Reading Is Fundamental, the nation's leading children's literacy non-profit. As part of Driscoll's goal to create more opportunities for childhood and youth development, this partnership supports RIF's mission of disrupting the U.S. literacy crisis by bringing the joy of reading to children and creating skilled readers while reinforcing Driscoll's commitment to invest in local health and education programs in the Vibrant Communities it has called home for more than 100 years as One Family, One Earth™. Thank you to Ventura County Star and Juan Carlo Mendoza for covering our event at Christa McAuliffe STEAM Academy, where Driscoll's employees volunteered to read the book to a group of second graders. Every student got to take home at least three books, participate in fun literacy activities and enjoy a berry feast following the readings! https://lnkd.in/gJJW5z-8

Only the Finest Berries
About us
Driscoll’s is the global market leader for fresh strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries. With more than 100 years of farming heritage and hundreds of independent growers around the world, Driscoll’s is passionate about growing great tasting berries. Driscoll’s exclusive patented berry varieties are developed through years of research using only natural breeding methods – that means no GMOs. A dedicated team of agronomists, breeders, sensory analysts, plant pathologists and entomologists help grow baby seedlings that are then grown on family farms. Our independent berry growers then work with Mother Nature, using experience and know-how to get the very best out of each strawberry, blueberry, blackberry and raspberry plant. Driscoll’s is serious about yummy berries! Driscoll’s is the trusted brand for Only the Finest Berries ™.

Congratulations to our partner Plenty® for opening the world's first farm to grow indoor, vertically farmed berries at scale. The Richmond farm will exclusively grow Driscoll's strawberries, combining Plenty's advanced technology with our proprietary varieties focused on premium flavor. “Partnering with Plenty for the launch of the Richmond Farm allows us to bring our premium strawberries closer to consumers in the Northeast, the largest berry consumption region in the US,” said Driscoll’s CEO Soren Bjorn. Thank you to Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin and other state and local leaders who were present at the opening celebration. Driscoll’s has been rooted in the Northern California community for more than 100 years and our hope is to continue growing alongside it for generations to come. Our donation to the acquisition and protection of the Beach Ranch initiative comes from both the Reiter Family Trust and Driscoll’s Charitable Giving. J. Miles Reiter and Driscoll's believes this vital restoration project will protect our communities, agriculture and the environment while enhancing water resources and climate resiliency. Thanks Land Trust of Santa Cruz County, The Nature Conservancy, NOAA: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration.
Celebrations are in order in Northern California as we and partners conserve 247 acres at Beach Ranch!🎉 Here we’re ensuring the restoration of wetlands and building climate change resilience, benefiting the area’s estuarine wetlands, agricultural infrastructure, and organic fruit and vegetable production. The nature-based solutions for climate change deployed at Beach Ranch will also help protect the surrounding communities that are at high risk for catastrophic flooding.
