Today there are about 2.25 million zero-dose children living in Nigeria, more than any other country in Africa. Families of zero-dose children also typically face the most difficulty accessing clean water, sanitation, nutrition, and healthcare. Our long-time partner Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance has a 2025 goal of reducing the number of children who have not received routine vaccinations by 25%. Together with Gavi and Nigerian State Ministries of Health, we will deliver more than 2.3 million vaccine doses to fully immunize more than 121,000 children in Nigeria over the next two years. Beyond routine vaccinations, we will provide additional care, including treatment for malnutrition, deworming medication, Vitamin A supplements, and family planning services. In partnership with Gavi, UPS Foundation, The ELMA Philanthropies, IFPW, and Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, we are simultaneously raising immunization rates and improving access to primary healthcare. https://bit.ly/3Vv7PAo

Nigeria accounts for 27% of global malaria cases—the highest of any country. An estimated 76% of the population is at risk for contracting malaria by living in high transmission areas and it’s the leading cause of death among children five and under. These are preventable deaths. Today we’re partnering with Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance and Nigerian State Ministries of Health to tackle this public health crisis together. Starting last week, Zipline is delivering RTS,S malaria vaccines by drone directly to health facilities and community-based delivery points across Bayelsa State.

Restaurants are busy, complex spaces where every inch matters. As I work with partners to integrate drone delivery at their restaurants, we’ve all got one goal top of mind: minimize disruption and maximize efficiency. That’s why our UX designer Elizabeth Trimble analyzes foot traffic patterns. Videos like this help in assessing how kitchen workflows and restaurant spaces can adapt to new technology. Program expansion alert! Together Elton John AIDS Foundation and Zipline have already helped over 55,000 young people in Kenya access HIV screening and preventative care—now, we’re expanding to use Zipline’s drone technology in Nigeria to deliver HIV care to youth in even more locations.

After more than five years of partnership and 15.5 million vaccine doses delivered, we've launched a new program with the Ministry Of Health, Ghana, Ghana Health Service, and Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance to bring millions more vaccine doses to underserved communities in Ghana. In addition to increasing vaccination coverage by 25 percentage points, this program will help scale the rollout of new vaccines like RTS,S malaria and conduct groundbreaking research on impact and cost.
