Right off Interstate 80 in Iowa, our Davenport Works facility often went unnoticed by visitors and locals driving by. It had very little signage to tell our story. So, our team decided to change that. “The new display pad unveils the magic of the Davenport Works factory,” says Tom Johnson, factory manager. “It’s our way to connect the 30,000 people passing by daily to our products and the exceptional people who build them for our customers.”

Imagine a kid playing with a toy combine on different floors – some smooth, some rough. The kid adjusts the speed based on the carpet texture. In the real world, out in the fields, we call this predictive ground speed automation. Using cameras and satellite images, the farmer's combine receives a field map that measures crop volume. It then adjusts its speed automatically. Denser crops may need slower speeds, while less dense crops allow for faster speeds. In the end, farmers don't have to worry about slowing down or getting stuck.

With Thanksgiving just around the corner in the U.S., food is definitely on everyone’s mind. But here’s a stark reality: while tons of produce go to waste each year, 47 million Americans—including children—struggle to find their next meal. Many farmers are forced to throw out perfectly good produce because there simply aren’t enough reliable markets to sell it. Crop surpluses can lead to significant costs in labor, storage, and transportation. However, there’s a silver lining! I’m excited to share that the John Deere Foundation has just announced a $6.6 million donation to Feeding America. This contribution will provide 66 million meals to those in need and support food rescue programs. One amazing example is The Farmlink Project, a partner of Feeding America, which is tackling food waste by connecting farmers with food-insecure communities. They recently pulled off a record-breaking food rescue, redirecting thousands of surplus apples to food banks and helping those in need. This holiday season, I’m grateful for many things, especially organizations like Feeding America and Farmlink. Together, we’re making great strides in ensuring everyone has enough to eat while also cutting down on food waste. It’s official! 9-year-old farmer and social media superstar Jackson Laux joins John Deere as our Chief Tractor Kid (CTK)! You might know him as internet personality @justajacksonthing, who could give any seasoned farmer or tractor expert a run for their money. As our CTK, Jackson's ready to roll up his flannel sleeves to share his love for agriculture…and perhaps a few tractor facts along the way. "I want to show other kids my age why they should get into farming too," says Jackson. Jackson will team up with our Chief Tractor Officer, Rex Curtiss, to begin sharing stories on TikTok. Follow along and check out Jackson’s story: http://spr.ly/6045sv387

Bill Nye "The Science Guy" on a... farm?!? That's right! Bill Nye visited the Feikema family farm in Minnesota to dive into the world of renewable fuels. Nye was impressed by the Feikemas' commitment to sustainable farming practices, discovering how they team up with local plants to process much of their corn and soybeans for fuel. He also learned how many airlines, including Delta, are looking to sustainable aviation fuel to reduce carbon emissions. "The Furrow" recaps Nye's visit: http://spr.ly/6049soIq5

We asked our employees to share their favorite Deere hat pics. And wow, the photos and stories were absolutely heartwarming and inspiring. From hats that have traveled the globe to those passed down through generations, each photo highlighted the common thread (pun intended) we all share: our dedication to supporting our customers.

Meet Gage Quiett and Germán A. Ortiz, two veterans who have transitioned into civilian careers with our team. Gage served in the Marines before joining our dealership program. Now a technician at Ag Power in Missouri, he applies his problem-solving expertise he developed in the military to make sure our farmers face no downtime. Germán, a seasoned Air Force veteran, navigated his transition through the DoD-SkillBridge program, where he leveraged his finance skills. Today, he's not just thriving as a senior analyst at our Harvester Works factory but also guiding other veterans through their transitions. We're grateful for their service and willingness to share their stories: http://spr.ly/6040Sa388
