Seven years ago we set out to answer an audacious question: could the then-nascent abilities of artificial intelligence solve the challenges of making agriculture more sustainable? The short answer is an unequivocal “yes.” And today, we're thrilled to announce that Mineral's groundbreaking technologies are now empowering some of the world's leading agriculture businesses. John Deere has acquired a suite of Mineral's technologies to enhance their See & Spray solutions. The Alliance of Bioversity and CIAT will leverage our AI phenotyping methods to accelerate the discovery of climate-resilient crops. And Driscoll's will integrate Mineral's technology to improve forecasting, optimize quality inspections, and reduce food waste. The nut of ‘solving sustainable ag’ with technology remains uncracked. But it’s a relay race not a sprint. The race continues, and our technology is now in the hands of industry leaders. We're proud of the incredible team that developed these technologies and can't wait to see the positive impact they will have on farmers worldwide. We talked with Margy Eckelkamp from Farm Journal about Mineral's journey and what's next. https://lnkd.in/gWbUYB6u

About us
Mineral, an Alphabet company, is working to make the world’s food system more productive and more sustainable. Since 2017, Mineral has been working to harness the power of artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and perception technology to unlock more sustainable ways to feed humankind while protecting the planet. Many of the agriculture and food industry’s most influential companies and research institutes already use Mineral technology to more deeply understand plant physiology, discover more resilient crops, increase production, and improve the bottom line for agribusinesses and farmers alike. Together with our partners, we're hopeful that these platforms and tools will - over time - drive a deeper understanding of the complex interactions of plant genes, the environment, and farm management practices.

Sometimes fresh eyes and a simple question are all it takes to change the status quo ✨ Mineral CEO Elliott Grant explores the difference between sustaining innovations and disruptive paradigm shifts in agriculture in his latest blog post. Because with advancements in AI happening at an exponential rate, perception systems learning to identify more and more plant species, more accurate actuation options for in common field tasks coming onto the scene, and farms already seeing fully autonomous and all-electric equipment, we can imagine a near future in which farm machinery is smarter and - counterintuitively - smaller 🚜 And together, these technologies will enable a new era for farm operations: Continuous Management. https://lnkd.in/ga-WDJHQ
