  • Last month's election marks a pivotal moment for our global food system, with the potential to reshape policies that influence U.S. agriculture and its role in global markets. This shift prompts important questions about the future of agriculture resilience. As we explore in our latest blog (link below), one thing remains clear: resilience is more critical than ever for businesses, the environment, and society as a whole. The growing intensity of natural disasters and climate risks to agricultural supply chains underscores this urgency. In 2023 alone, extreme weather and major disasters led to over $21 billion in crop losses. A change in administration doesn’t change the reality of today’s climate impacts, and our shared need to build food system resilience. Farmers and businesses alike must implement strong risk management strategies to mitigate these challenges, making agriculture resilience not a policy problem, but a business problem. At Regrow, we’re committed to supporting the industry in building a resilient agricultural system through innovative, data-driven solutions. By empowering collaboration and helping organizations navigate complex challenges, we aim to ensure a more sustainable and prosperous future for agriculture. Read more about the potential policy impacts and our takeaways in our blog. https://lnkd.in/gAx2BbF8

  • On this World Soil Day, we’re celebrating soil’s amazing ability to not only produce 95% of our food, but help fight climate change through its carbon storage superpowers. 🌱 Just take a look at the 5.8 million hectares of French farmland monitored in the Regrow platform. We estimate that last year this land was able to sequester more than 2,000,000 metrics tonnes of CO2e (carbon dioxide equivalent). To put that in perspective, it’s similar to the emissions avoided by the largest wind farm in the United States (600 wind turbines)! And with smart adoption of more sustainable farming practices, this land holds the potential to sequester even more carbon. Not to mention the other important benefits that these practices can provide. Let’s take time on this United Nations led holiday to recognize one of earth’s unsung heroes — soil. Its incredible potential to nourish, sustain, and protect deserves our attention and action.

  • As Anastasia Volkova, PhD says, there are a handful of key factors in our quest to build resilience. Two of the most important are: 📊 Data-driven decision making 🤝 Collaboration across the supply chain We're proud to see our customers using data and strategic partnerships to build assurance for the future of our food system (and their businesses), and we're happy to see Forbes highlighting this movement as it gains ground. As CEO of Regrow Ag, I'm thrilled to see Forbes highlighting the significant progress in regenerative agriculture. This article by Steven Savage perfectly captures the momentum we're witnessing in our industry and provides valuable insights into how data-driven decision-making and collaborative efforts are shaping the future of sustainable agriculture. It's inspiring to see our partners and customers leading the charge. Kudos to PepsiCo, General Mills, Cargill, Unilever, Nestlé, and Kellanova for their ambitious commitments to implementing regenerative practices. These initiatives exemplify how scaling our efforts is crucial for meaningful impact. Many companies in the mainstream food industry are choosing to invest in the expansion of regenerative agriculture both as a form of corporate responsibility and to "future proof" their supply chains by increasing the amount of climate resilient farmland on which their products depend. This dual benefit of regenerative practices underscores why resilience isn't just a priority; it's a business strategy. At Regrow, we're proud to be driving this change. In just the last few years, we've built up large scale data systems to monitor over 1.4B acres of agricultural land and supported the implementation of regenerative practices on millions of acres globally. This work has contributed to over 1.3M metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions reduced or removed. I'm particularly excited about the emphasis on data-driven decision making. Companies are leveraging advanced technologies to measure and verify the impacts of regenerative practices. This aligns perfectly with our belief at Regrow that precise, validated data is the foundation of resilient agriculture. The collaborative efforts highlighted underscore a critical point: the future of our food system depends on working together. At Regrow, we're proud to foster partnerships that drive resilience across entire supply chains. As we move forward, let's continue to champion the regenerative practices, scale our efforts, and collaborate for a more resilient agricultural future. What steps is your organization taking to advance regenerative agriculture? Let's keep this important conversation going! #RegenerativeAgriculture #Sustainability #AgTech #FoodSystems #Resilience https://lnkd.in/gJbr3AE8

  • 1M acres 🤯 Farmers across the country are stepping up to adopt practices that build healthier soils and more resilient farms, and leading companies — like our partner Cargill — are providing the programs and incentives to make the transition worthwhile. As Heather Tansey, VP of Environmental Sustainability said in a recent conversation, "Resilience is critical for agrifood supply chains. If farmers aren't successful, we're not successful." We admire Cargill's determination to support farmers in building resilience, and at Regrow we’re honored to play a part in the RegenConnect journey. • "In my estimation, it’s not emerging technologies that will make the difference. It’s the availability and use of meaningful data." 🛰️ 🌱 According to our CEO Anastasia Volkova, PhD, data is the most practical way to build resilience across the ag value chain. By tying the environmental impacts of farming practices directly to our business success, we show that building resilience is the obvious choice for supporting our farmers, our businesses and our environment. • What crops are commonly rotated in your state? Find out in the animated map below. Crop rotation involves alternating the types of crops grown on the same land. Done properly, it can make farms more resilient by improving crop efficiency, minimizing soil erosion and squashing the development of diseases and pests. Across the United States corn and soybeans are clearly the dominant pairing, but there is plenty of regional diversity, like cotton and peanuts in the southeast. This data reflects crops monitored within the Regrow platform, software built on the latest innovations in satellite imagery and machine learning. Customers gain insights into a wide range of agricultural practices—like crop rotation—in the geographies and supply chains that matter to them most. Where are sustainable practices being adopted today? What is the impact on emissions, removals, and yields in those areas? And what sort of outcomes could we expect in different forward-looking scenarios? Let’s talk about what these insights could mean for your organization.
