As a lens through which to understand the way the world is along with the potential for the future, art serves as a connector unlike any other medium. With leaders from a range of backgrounds and lived experiences, our discussion for last week's SALA Dinner at Art Basel centered around the impact of art on culture and society. And with prominent involvement from PayPal, we paid tribute to the past while orienting ourselves solidly toward the future as innovation and technology continues to join forces with and entrepreneurship and creativity. Shoutout to our incredible speakers: James Loftus and Christopher Sweetland (PayPal), Angelle Siyang-Le and Hayley Romer (Art Basel), Oren Aharon (Hour One) and Renaud Proch (ICI (Independent Curators International). Amongst others, great to be with: Avery Akkineni, Nancy Berger, Seth Brener, Christie Davis, Michael D'Alto, Carole Diarra, Andrea DiNunzio, Kristin Faucher, Conor Gallagher, Bradley Girson, Katie Gohman, Adam Granoff, George Hammer, Maya Harris, Sherri Haymond, Kaitlin Jaquez, David Kidder, Sam Kline, Casey Klyszeiko, Andres Lares, Benjamin Ling, John MacPhee, Cristina Mancini, Amy Pinkus, Avner Ronen, Adee Shepen, Selina Suarez, MBA, Gavin Sullivan, M. SALA Series
Information Services
An events and media-driven platform and community that brings together (and celebrates) purpose-driven leaders.
About us
Derived from the Italian root of the word 'salon,’ the SALA Series brings together a broad spectrum of senior-level business executives and influential figures as a way to connect, engage and spark change. As such, SALA provides an efficient marketplace for brand and business development amongst its members. Example programming includes: - Dinner Series: Intimate gatherings of up to 35 members at unique venues in key markets globally - Digital: Themed round table discussions of ten or fewer participants - Experiential: Both hospitality and community-driven experiences - Summits: Larger scale programs that bring together the entire SALA community Intrinsic to SALA's mission is to provide support for a group of extraordinary nonprofit partners; entities that also receive funding via the SALA Grant program; funds derived from individual and corporate membership dues. Another way SALA helps drive long-term impact is via the SALA Fellows program; a personal and professional development program for a group of remarkable next generation leaders from underrepresented minority communities. These Fellows participate in a dedicated yearlong curriculum and benefit from network connections with other Fellows as well as the community overall. Community and individual development is at the core of everything SALA does and stands for. Thank you for your involvement and support!

More than helping us understand the world and those around us, art and its impact on culture prompts greater awareness and profound questions: namely, what are our priorities as individuals and what are our broader responsibilities as members of society? Thanks to the remarkable Hayley Romer, Chief Growth Officer of Art Basel, we were able to stage an extraordinary SALA dinner this past week in Miami. With individualism and divisiveness at such great heights, it was never a better time to convene purpose-driven leaders from a range of background and lived experiences. In addition to Art Basel thank you to the executives and SALA members at PayPal for making this possible. Oren Aharon, Avery Akkineni, Nancy Berger, Seth Brener, Christie Davis, Michael D'Alto, Carole Diarra, Andrea DiNunzio, Kristin Faucher, Conor Gallagher, Bradley Girson, Katie Gohman, Adam Granoff, George Hammer, Maya Harris, Sherri Haymond, Kaitlin Jaquez, David Kidder, Sam Kline, Casey Klyszeiko, Andres Lares, Benjamin Ling, James Loftus, John MacPhee, Cristina Mancini, Amy Pinkus, Hayley Romer, Avner Ronen, Adee Shepen, Angelle Siyang-Le, Selina Suarez, MBA, Gavin Sullivan, Christopher Sweetland, M. Over the last few year's we've had a front-row seat to what the world is now learning: Monica McNutt is a next-level talent as a broadcaster and commentator. But what's more? She's kind, thoughtful and first to laugh - both at herself and with others. So appreciative to have Monica (and her great friend Dalen Cuff) lead our SALA Podcast! Go, Monica, go! A shift of emphasis in healthcare is happening - from providers to patients and from doctors to data. Technologies such as the smartphone allow us to monitor our own health. Now imagine having access to the crucial missing ingredients: access to your own medical records and the ability to easily share information with those you trust. We can enhance our own care along with everyone else. These were among the central themes of the 'Future of Healthcare' panel featuring Ellana Stinson, MD, MPH, MBA (New England Medical Group), Balaji Gandhi, William Curry (Massachusetts General Hospital) and Rainelle Walker-White (The Family Van) at our Better Health for All Summit with Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health supported by Sanofi and The Jed Foundation (JED). #healthcare #health #leadership

With wide disparities based on zip code and socioeconomics, U.S. life expectancy is notably lower than in every other developed country. Few opportunities are more urgent than addressing the healthcare crisis - we're becoming sicker, yet the percentage of Americans who can afford and access quality healthcare and prescription drugs is at a new low of 55%, a six-point decline from two years ago. In partnership with Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, we brought together an influential community of purpose-driven leaders, including investors, practitioners, academics, entrepreneurs, and policymakers from a range of backgrounds and experiences. We leaned on one another and learned from one another, exploring opportunities, trends and technologies that have the potential to reshape the future of health. Thanks for checking out the highlights. We'll be back in Boston for year two of the "Better Health for All" summit next October, and hope you can join us. Last Friday's conversation on the 'Fragile Nature of Our Democracy' was incredibly timely and thought-provoking, especially days prior to the election. One thing that is clear is that we can't outsource our personal responsibility to our democracy. 🔊 Listen to Juju Chang (ABC News), Julian Zelizer (Princeton University), Eddie Glaude and Anne-Marie Slaughter (New America) on the SALA Pod here: https://lnkd.in/esEjM3_S #democracy #election #leadership
