We spoke to two Spring Health employees, Tanner Smith (he/him) and Gabriella Quintero L. (she/her) on what it means to build a truly inclusive workplace for #transgender and #nonbinary employees. 🏳️⚧️ Their stories remind us that inclusive isn’t just about policies or programs — it’s about creating a culture where people feel empowered to show up as their authentic selves, knowing they will be respected, valued, and supported. From Tanner: “I’ve faced discrimination in past workplaces for being open about being transgender. That’s why working at Spring Health is so meaningful to me. Here, I’ve found a safe and supportive environment where I can be myself without fear.” From Gabriella: “Tolerance is not the goal—acceptance, inclusivity, and respect are.” 🫳🎤 Read their full interviews on our blog: https://lnkd.in/g5PTRJ-5 #workplace #inclusive #DEI #lgbtq #mentalhealth #workplacewellness

Today’s workforce needs leaders who respond to trauma with understanding and create spaces where vulnerability is accepted. Trauma-informed leaders: 👉 Are adaptable. Many mental health programs use a one-size-fits-all approach, but trauma-informed leadership empowers managers to offer support tailored to their team’s unique needs. 👉 Understand how past experiences can impact work behavior and performance. By creating policies and environments prioritizing psychological safety, they can better support all team members—whether they’re navigating personal challenges, managing anxiety, or experiencing difficult life transitions. As Millard Brown, Spring Health Chief Medical Officer says, leaders can help employees feel seen and valued. The result is stronger retention, deeper trust, and greater employee engagement. Grief is deeply personal, and no two experiences are the same. But one thing is certain: no one should have to navigate it alone. During #GriefAwarenessWeek, we’re encouraging workplaces to create spaces where employees feel supported through their grief. A compassionate, human-centered approach can make all the difference, enhancing morale and fostering connection. Here are 5 actionable ways to support grieving employees: 💙 Provide grief and loss resources for employees. 💙 Foster open communication to build trust. 💙 Promote mental health care and encourage flexibility. 💙 Lead with empathy by offering gentle, supportive check-ins. 💙 Normalize #mentalhealth conversations year-round. Grief doesn’t follow a timeline, and it often feels heavier during the holidays. Learn more about how to support employees through grief this season by reading Bethany VanderSluis - Johnston, LMSW, RYT's blog “Empathy in Action: How to Support Employees Through Grief This Holiday Season.” https://lnkd.in/gJdHuTy5 Together, we can create workplaces where employees feel seen, supported, and empowered to heal. 💙

Whether it’s a tough conversation over the #Thanksgiving table, or a tense interaction with a colleague, these phrases can help you keep your cool. 🌡️ Plus, ending a conversation before it turns into an argument can help you feel less #stress and maintain positive relationships with people in your life — even if you disagree. #mentalhealth

Feeling overwhelmed about end-of-year work demands and the holidays? We get it. That’s why we’re sharing some #breathing exercises proven to reduce stress and increase relaxation. Take a moment for yourself today, because you deserve this. 🌀 DIAPHRAGMATIC BREATHING 🌀 Lie on your back with your knees slightly bent. Place one hand on your chest and another on your belly. Inhale and feel the gentle rise of your abdomen. When you exhale, purse your lips and tighten your abdominal muscles. 🌀 4-7-8 BREATHING 🌀 Sit or lie in a comfortable position. Inhale for 4 second, hold your breath for 7 seconds, and exhale for 8. Focus on the cycle of inhaling and exhaling, feeling your mind calm. 🌀 ALTERNATE NOSTRIL BREATHING 🌀 Find a comfortable seated position. Pressing the side of your nose, gently close your right nostril. Inhale through your left nostril. Then, close your left nostril and exhale through your right nostril. Continue alternating sides for up to 5 minutes. #stress #mentalhealth #holidays #relaxation #wellness
