Yesterday, we celebrated the groundbreaking of the highly anticipated Bowers Stadium upgrade project—a major win for the future of SHSU and Bearkat Athletics! 🏈

This week, we proudly celebrated the grand opening of two important buildings: the new Academic Building at Lamar State College Orange and the Workforce and Allied Health Training Center at Lamar Institute of Technology. At LSCO, the New Academic Building is now the largest space on campus, housing state-of-the-art labs, classrooms, computer labs, and collaborative spaces for students and faculty. LIT’s new Workforce and Allied Health Training Center will provide specialized training and support for local industries, featuring nursing skills and simulation labs, a pharmacy tech program, and an industry partners lab.

Last week, Lamar University celebrated the groundbreaking of the Mary and John Gray Library renovation, joined by Chancellor McCall and TSUS Regents. This marks the first major update to the iconic building in nearly five decades. Once completed, the library will become a central hub on campus, welcoming both new and returning students. https://lnkd.in/gtYK35DS

The figurative sculpture "a big thank you" was recently installed at Sam Houston State University as part of the school's Recreation Center expansion project. The 10-foot, 800-pound bronze sculpture was created by Dallas artist Nic Nicosia. This project was made possible through the Texas State University System’s Public Art Program, which allocates one percent of major construction budgets to acquiring museum-quality public art for all seven of its member institutions.

We're thrilled to have hosted Harrison Ford and the cast and crew of 1923 at the Texas State University System's administration building, O. Henry Hall. This historic building first opened its doors in 1881 as a federal courthouse and post office. In 2015, the Texas State University System Board of Regents approved the purchase of the building, which now houses the office of the Chancellor and the TSUS administration.

#TXST and Elisia Education Hub have partnered to open TXST’s first international campus in the Mexican city of Santiago de Querétaro. All degrees at the Mexico campus will be fully accredited in the U.S. and Mexico, with classes being taught in English. We expect to welcome the first Querétaro campus class in fall 2025: https://lnkd.in/gGCYjGgA

Last week, the Texas State University System held a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony to inaugurate the Polk County Center, a partnership between Lamar State College Orange, Lamar State College-Port Arthur, and Lamar Institute of Technology offering education and technical training for on-demand jobs.
