  • It's been fifteen years since the release of the iconic "I Love My Ducks" music video, and the members of Supwitchugirl are still smelling roses. 🌹 UO alumni Michael Bishop, Brian McAndrew, and Jamie Slade created "I Love My Ducks (I Smell Roses)" in 2009 and "I Love My Ducks (Return of the Quack)" in 2010. The videos became smashing hits overnight and helped launch Michael, Brian, and Jamie's careers after graduation in 2010. In our January issue of #SHOUT, we'll catch up with the three alumni on what they're up to now. Stay tuned for the full story coming mid-January! For now though, we hope you enjoy this nostalgic sing-along moment ahead of tomorrow's big game. We sure do love our Ducks!! 🦆 #UOAlumni #OnceADuck #AlwaysADuck #CFP #B1GFootball

  • 🌟 Meet Hayley Hendricks, BS ’11 (material and product studies) 🌟, the driving force behind the LA Ducks chapter! 🦆💚 A proud UO alumna, Hayley joined the LA Ducks board a few years ago and now serves as chapter president, bringing Ducks together and keeping the Oregon spirit alive in Southern California. For Hayley, connecting with fellow alumni feels like a piece of home. From cheering on the Ducks at games to organizing events like the LA Ducks’ Watch Parties, she creates a community that celebrates the bond all Ducks share. Hayley is ready to cheer louder than ever at the Rose Bowl, cheering on the Ducks in her own backyard. Her tip for fellow alumni traveling for the game: "Brace yourself for LA traffic—it's wild!" Stay connected with the LA Ducks on their socials and visit https://bit.ly/3DoOJWt to learn more about watch parties and events in and around LA. #GoDucks #OnceADuckAlwaysADuck #UOAlumni

  • In continued celebration of the fall and winter holidays, meet Jurell Scott, BS '22 (business administration). Jurell shared some of his family's special traditions for Christmas. 🎄 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮? Thanksgiving has always meant family to me. Being able to come together and focus on enjoying each others company surrounded by food and football. Christmas is another time to enjoy family and and enjoy the spirit of giving. It is my mom's favorite holiday so it will always be special to me. 𝐃𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐲? When I was a kid my mom would always record Christmas on a camcorder, which was always fun. She would yell that we couldn't open gifts until she started recording, so my brother and I would rush her to start because we were so eager to open gifts. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮? Coming together as a family is special to me since I am very family orientated. I love it because it's a time for us to pause and focus on family when we can easily be distracted by other things in our lives. Those moments are special. #UOAlumni #OnceADuck #AlwaysADuck

  • Happy holidays, Ducks! ❄️✨ We asked UO alumni to share their favorite holiday memories and traditions, and today we're spotlighting Sam Rugi, MBA '24. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮? Christmas and New Year's Eve. In Kenya, these holidays are significant for gathering and meeting family members and loved ones who live far from home. My favorite memories are the common themes of enjoying great food with family members and friends, stew or barbeque made from goats, cows, or chicken meat, with kales, spinach, and rice, or at times accompanied by Chapatis, an Indian treat made of wheat flour, my favorite. 𝐃𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐲? In my early days in life, these holidays were the only moment we could wear new clothes and affordable black "Sandak" (molded unique plastic sandals) and drink a complimentary bottle of soda. The season's highlight was the strong family support and the time spent catching up with friends and creating new memories. The emotional connections were life rejuvenating, something I've missed as an expatriate for almost two decades now—the price one pays to live and serve outside their country of origin. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮? Attending church service as a Christmas tradition and a reminder of the birth of Jesus Christ. Gifts exchange with family members and loved ones, strengthening our love for each other and creating new memories. #UOAlumni #OnceADuck #AlwaysADuck
