Wayne County’s partnership with Vision To Learn was recently highlighted nationally on NBC News. In October, we officially launched the program bringing free vision care to children. Wayne County invested $1.75 million in the partnership. Executive Warren Evans said it best, "Making sure every single kid who needs a pair of glasses gets a pair of glasses is about more than just glasses-it's about changing the course of a child's life. That's why our partnership with Vision To Learn is so foundational to what we're trying to do in here in Wayne County." We’re glad the rest of the country is getting a chance to see the positive impact we’re having here in Wayne County. We’re proud to ensure that every child can see their potential and succeed in school.

Thanks to our dedicated road crews, a new salt dome in Plymouth Township, and over 100 trucks prepped and standing by, we’re working to make the roads safer for our community this winter. High-speed roads and expressways will be the first to get attention, with neighborhoods plowed when snowfall exceeds 6 inches in townships. Stay safe, keep your distance from snowplows (at least 200 feet!), and take it slow in the snow. ⬇️ See the link in comments to watch segment from CBS News and Stations

Thanks to all who participated in our annual Turkey Drive. This year, Executive Warren C. Evans, Deputy County Executive Assad I. Turfe, Wayne County employees, and volunteers passed out 700 turkeys to families across the county. Special thanks to New Hope Assembly of God in Taylor for hosting and donating hundreds of boxes of food. #OneWayneCounty #Thanksgiving
