REMEMBER the fallen; HONOR those who serve; TEACH future generations the value of freedom. Overview: What began in 1992 with a trailer load of 5,000 wreaths, placed by volunteers and laid at the graves of servicemembers laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery has now become a national organization with over 4.200 participating locations, with more than 3 million volunteers – a third of who are children – who support the yearlong mission to Remember the fallen, Honor those who serve, and Teach the next generation the value of freedom.

Today, National Wreaths Across America Day took place at 4,909 participating locations nationwide. Millions of volunteers — a third of whom were children — remembered our nation’s heroes as they said their names out loud, with the placement of over three million sponsored veterans’ wreaths. Thank you to the volunteers who took time out of their busy holiday season to Remember the fallen, Honor those who served, and Teach the next generation the value of freedom.
