Understanding the key stakeholders in a set of data is important to telling a compelling story and creating change. If you do not understand the needs, emotions, and motivations of your stakeholders, your narrative will not resonate as much as it could.

It's important to evaluate biases in data and the conclusions they present. Data is critically important, but if the parties that gather and/or evaluate the data have biases that unjustly influence the findings of the study, grave consequences can result. Understanding biases is always a good place to start when working with data.
