Gavi works in collaboration with governments, international organizations, and private sector partners to develop and implement sustainable vaccine programs in LMICs. The alliance provides funding and technical support to countries to strengthen their immunization systems, improve vaccine delivery, and expand access to vaccines. Gavi also works to accelerate the development and introduction of new vaccines, with a particular focus on vaccines for diseases that disproportionately affect people living in LMICs, such as pneumonia, rotavirus, and cervical cancer. Since its inception, Gavi has helped to immunize over 820 million children and prevent an estimated 14 million deaths from vaccine-preventable diseases.
