• The challenge: The USAF’s HR division wanted to shift to Power BI for its enhanced integration capabilities, cost-effective licenses, better scalability, and alignment with their long-term technology strategy. With their Tableau licenses approaching renewal, they sought an automated migration solution. The USAF partnered with Wavicle to accelerate migration using EZConvertBI while maintaining complete data privacy.
• The solution: Wavicle used EZConvertBI to streamline migration, first using the analyzer tool to evaluate and categorize the dashboards in the Tableau environment and then the converter to automate migration. Wavicle’s team also made manual adjustments to ensure all charts, labels, and data structures were properly formatted for Power BI. To comply with strict data privacy requirements, Wavicle worked exclusively with synthetic data provided by the USAF.
• The results: The USAF was highly satisfied with both the process and the results of the migration to Power BI, which met their requirements for privacy, function, budget, and time. The successful project and use of the EZConvertBI accelerator exceeded delivery expectations and positioned the organization strategically to meet future technology goals using Microsoft’s data and analytics ecosystem.
