Cadence is engaging phase 1 by enabling AI Chips, and phase 2 which drive design automation. 3DIC is natural extension of Moore's law. Optimistic about power, as new Innovation along the way will bend the straight line projection usually seen in the early inning of technology like AI. Real value realization will mostly be vertical based, not the horizontal LLM. AI will move from infrastructure AI, physical AI(automotive, robotics) to the horizon 3, that is likely AI biggest apps such as AI for science, particularly life science Sandra Rivera : AI impact is multi facets. First it is a TAM expansion for FPGA, which is needed as co-accelerator. AI is also embedded in placement tool and in even in basic fabrics, which will be making FPGA better. Power is the single Largest limiter for AI deployment. Also, Should AI be better regulated than what happened in social media, leading to the data security and privacy. Tien Wu : AI has driven ASE to increase capex to 4B This year from 2B last year due to systematic complexity, not just technology but the more players in ecosystem, which breaks the traditional pricing. AI has made us seeing the first time that Hardware is the bottleneck in term of improvement and return in profit. US has the data and economic scale to deploy AI across all sectors in term of efficiency improvement, given US also has been a highly "wasteful" nation.

Good video for non-experts in #ai to watch. I 100% agree with their points, and have thought similar things for over a year now on #genai and with #selfdriving for years. When I founded my company called Pragmatic AI Labs , in 2016 the focus was "pragmatic", i.e. realistic, skeptical and useful. 80% of GenAI or "AI (Marketing Term)" is none of these. Examples: A. Self-driving in current form is likely a bust, we need new roads for smart cars B. GenAI is a power drill being sold as an airplane....useful, but 95% less useful than told C. Much of what is called "AI", is just remarketed linear regression D. Consider the source...#bayarea #tech people lie; the end. E. Proposing a framework for #AIPolicy: The current technology-centered approach to AI policy is resulting in fragmented and piecemeal efforts -- often decoupled from the intended real-world results. We lack a comprehensive AI policy framework to support coherent and effective policy making anchored in meaningful outcomes aligned with our collective social priorities. I propose a Social Outcomes and Priorities centered (SOP) framework for AI policy, its core components, and recommendations on their implementation for #USA (the framework is applicable globally). The SOP framework provides a mechanism to build policy and regulatory structure encouraging outcomes that strengthen society’s core foundations and offer uniform and equitable benefits while minimizing the risks. Spent a thought-provoking Sunday at a literature festival, diving into the panel discussion on "𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐀𝐈 𝐨𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞." It’s fascinating how topics once seen as outliers, like technology’s role in literature, are now central to the conversation. During the panel discussion, masterfully moderated by Sanjay Koppikar, we delved into whether AI is a blessing or a burden for creativity and addressed pressing issues surrounding copyrights and plagiarism. We also emphasized the urgent need for policies to protect the interests and rights of writers in this evolving landscape. What made this conversation particularly special were my fellow panelists, Chandrasekhar Buddha (CEO, Anuvadini AI, Ministry of Education) and Senthil Nathan (CEO, Ailaysa). Both have dedicated significant time to innovating in the fields of language and translation, and their perspectives were truly profound. If a problem isn’t complex, there is no need for a team. To build a team around a noncomplex problem is to place priority on inclusion at the expense of quality. Teams should be used for complex problems where multiple subject matter experts are needed to solve a unique problem; these experts provide specialized knowledge, and the team chemistry benefits because each person plays a vital role instead of just being along for the ride. #TeamDynamics #Innovation #GroupCreativity
