Feeling super productive on a Saturday after hitting Anthropic's Claude Sonnet 3.5 usage limit! When claude's chat length increases, it suggests you start a fresh chat. To get it upto speed on the new chat, you can ask claude to merge all the code done so far and give a mega.txt file which you can upload in next! This is what I asked claude at the end -- "Now claude is saying the length of chat is huge. So what I want to do is, you give me a python script , which reads all the files inside my modular_implementation folder and outputs one mega .txt file with filename and the contents and differentiation between files. So that I can upload the .txt file for your further processing. " Thinking if I should take a break till 10:30pm or shift to OpenAI's ChatGPT with the mega .txt file!

It took 4 or 5 years longer than I originally predicted, but no-code's promise to non-technical founders is here. It looks different than I thought... instead of founders building products themselves for free, they're using agencies and freelancers and just paying less. I'm getting more and more leads from founders who originally got expensive quotes from dev shops. We end up doing the job for ~1/5 cost and sometimes 1/10 time. I launched a web app for a client last month. We built it in two weeks, without code. It already has over 100 paying customers. Real, profitable businesses are being built by leveraging experienced no-code builders! 5 years ago I went all in and converted my solo consultancy to a full no-code shop. It's finally paying off 😂. If you'd like to build something and hiring devs has been prohibitive, consider the no-code route. I'm happy to talk anytime!

“Codegen tools are broken.” They churn out boilerplate, need endless fixes, and rarely feel… smart. So when I asked Codebuff to create a browser-based Minecraft game, I wasn’t sure what to expect as I just told it: 👉 “generate a basic minecraft clone that runs in my browser that lets me move around in the world, explore it, and mine blocks. keep going until it's very recognizable as a minecraft game.” And here’s what happened: ✅ Hover effects to show where blocks drop. ✅ Particle effects when blocks are destroyed. ✅ An instruction overlay showing block types. Codebuff uses two agents: 👨‍💻 A Developer agent to write features. 🕵️‍♂️ A Product Manager agent to critique and refine. The best part? The game actually works. We showed a basic version to a dozen people, and each added their own ideas and features to our project. Check out the demo video for the final version. Off the shelf trade tools in crypto exchanges can be a bit... tricky. Was just playing on Bybit with their funding rate arbitrage bot - built-in. They suggest Buy FB/USDT (spot) and Sell FBUSDT (perp) all good fine it seems. Then it turns out the Spot pair is actually FB - Fenerbahçe Token and the Perp pair is actually Fractal Bitcoin. Ummm... I don't think that was intended :) TBH these mobile trading UIs are so packed and so hard to navigate these days that you really have to write your own tools/blotters.

🔍 We're hiring again at Centaur Labs which means I'm reviewing lots of applications... a process I actually enjoy! One thing I'm noticing is most cover letters don't mention anything about the company and what we're working on, E.g.: "Dear sir, I'm excited to apply to the React Engineer position. I have X years of experience as a front-end developer and I'm an expert in Typescript. I'm looking forward to learning more!" 💌 My advice is to do some research on the company you're applying for, then write a blurb on why your unique blend of skills, experience, and attitude is a great fit for THIS role at THIS company. A thoughtful cover letter is an easy way to get the hiring manager's attention and increase your odds at an interview. *Edited to add: this advice is very specific to startups, where mission is so important! #interviewingtips #developerjobs

Klarna has made a flurry of announcements about their new tools this year, but interestingly, they haven't provided any specific details on how they did it. If you replace 'AI' with 'awesome', 'crappy', or even 'God' in their announcements, the intent becomes visible. It seems like they're generating buzz to prepare for their IPO. If they've developed a cutting-edge CRM tool or innovative workforce solution, why not monetize it or offer it as open-source or freeware? That would create more excitement and marketing traction than these vague announcements. Are we to expect similar announcements about upcoming payroll software, bookkeeping software, and marketing automation software :-)

So no doubt everyone has been talking about the latest llama3.1 large language model that has been released by Meta today. It's supposedly equal or better than ChatGPT 4o or Claude Sonnet 3.5. I've just taken it out for a spin on our GPUs and despite all the energy used to built this model it still can't do simple maths! What to know why? Then like and comment below and that'll keep me motivated to finish my next presentation on this topic!
