After on the shortlist of Vaccine Industry Excellent (Vie), WWCDC 2024, our Vacino’s oral COVID-19 epitope vaccine, Vacino-CO, has an important time to stop future Disease X pandemic. Another Vacino’s developing drug is miRNA-based Alzheimer’s disease drug. It can prevent the damage from excess neuroinflammation caused by microglia cells through up-regulation of neuron’s PD-L1 level. It is also expected to treat neuroinflammation-related disease such as Parkinson’s disease etc. The final is Vacino’s brain delivery technology. With this technology, it’s not a dream to deliver large drug molecules and can be manufactured as many different drug modalities. Despite the challenging fundraising environment, we are witnessing significant investments in AI-enabled drug discovery and development. Following Sanofi's recent partnership with OpenAI and Formation Bio (that some of you may remember as TrialSpark), the latter has taken a notable step by securing nearly $400M in their Series D funding round. This funding, aimed at enhancing their AI platform and in-licensing new product candidates, highlights the growing confidence in AI-driven healthcare innovations. This deal, much like the recent emergence of Xaira Therapeutics from stealth mode, highlights the latest fierce battleground among major VC funds. With A16Z backing Formation Bio, and Lightspeed and NEA investing in Xaira, the competition to lead in AI-powered biotech innovations is intensifying. As competition increases for biotech funding, the need for an effective pitch deck continues to grow. A common mistake is neglecting to address potential risks or setbacks. Companies may feel that this will give the impression of an ill-equipped organisation and ultimately erode investor confidence. However, it can have the opposite effect. Acknowledging the risks or potential setbacks you may face demonstrates a clear understanding of the volatile nature of biotech and can show investors that you're prepared to deal with this. One of the most common misunderstandings in biotech today: the "best" AI automatically delivers the best results.  At DeepMirror, we've discovered a different truth. So many AI tools in biopharma, despite their potential, struggle to find their way into regular use.  Why?  Because having the most advanced algorithms or the largest training datasets doesn't mean that a software is usable. No matter how well a tool performs in theory, if it’s too complex for the end user, it’ll be abandoned.  Our focus is on building AI that scientists can actually use, day in and day out. What a thrill for us to be recognized as a finalist in the Transformational Therapy Category at the Biotech Week Boston Awards gala last night!   Our team at Indaptus Therapeutics, Inc. is passionate about re-thinking cancer treatment by developing innovative therapies that challenge conventional precision and targeted approaches. We're pushing boundaries, and it’s exciting to see our efforts acknowledged alongside some of the industry’s top innovators. Chaunte Lowe, OLY, a 4-time Olympian and cancer survivor, set an inspiring tone as host. Her resilience and story of overcoming adversity resonated with everyone in the room, and served as a powerful reminder of the perseverance it takes to innovate and save lives. It was also great to reconnect with a legend in the field of immunotherapy, Arthur Krieg from Zola Therapeutics, and talk about his latest work.  It’s fascinating to listen to someone who has been at the forefront of innovation for so many years, and I always learn something new every time we speak. And a special shoutout to Adam Thomas (he/him) from MOMA Therapeutics. Besides being a fantastic presenter, he surely should have won a "best dressed" award for his sharp kilt!
