Real value realization will mostly be vertical based, not the horizontal LLM. AI will move from infrastructure AI, physical AI(automotive, robotics) to the horizon 3, that is likely AI biggest apps such as AI for science, particularly life science Sandra Rivera : AI impact is multi facets. First it is a TAM expansion for FPGA, which is needed as co-accelerator. AI is also embedded in placement tool and in even in basic fabrics, which will be making FPGA better. Power is the single Largest limiter for AI deployment. Also, Should AI be better regulated than what happened in social media, leading to the data security and privacy. Tien Wu : AI has driven ASE to increase capex to 4B This year from 2B last year due to systematic complexity, not just technology but the more players in ecosystem, which breaks the traditional pricing. AI has made us seeing the first time that Hardware is the bottleneck in term of improvement and return in profit. US has the data and economic scale to deploy AI across all sectors in term of efficiency improvement, given US also has been a highly "wasteful" nation.

Open-source models can be a strong lever for increasing gross margins at AI companies, especially those that have hefty cost structures (e.g., enterprise sales orgs that require significant customer success or implementation resources, as well forward-deployed AI services models common in healthcare and life sciences). An interview process, by definition, can only cover so much content in a given time period. But decision-making is a topic that, when prioritized, can increase executive job satisfaction down the line. When we compare survey respondents who did have an interview conversation about decision making versus those who did not, we find that those who did are 1.4x more satisfied with their jobs overall. Kingsley Gate sheds light on this often-overlooked skill for HBR.

ScaleUp AI has always been a unique platform to get a snapshot of the state of AI by bringing together builders & starups along with CxOs & practioners in one dialogue. This year was no different with insights from thought leaders like Allie K. Miller and Andrew Ng, AI in Healthcare, Finance & Government and exploring a range of technical & architectural considerations. My session on AI Agents was quite engaging with Artem H. and Daniel Vassilev sharing their learnings from developing Agentic platforms and Ruchir Puri offering a reality check from an Enterprise deployment perspective. Some key observations: - From Artem: The key is to build a Agentic platform that can consistently provide deterministic outcomes while harnessing the probabilistic strengths of LLMs - From Dan: It is important to deeply understand the business users perspective while designing the AI Agents and not focus just on the technical teams - From Ruchir: There is a lot of Agent washing going on and Enterprises see thru it. Agentic platforms need to solve complex workflows and prove they are better than current solutions. The (Healthcare) Ground Beneath Our Feet… This year it is likely that over $10 billion will be invested in the digital health sector – a robust amount, no doubt, but inconsequential when compared to the amount of capital tied up in healthcare real estate assets, which is estimated to be $1.2 trillion by Jones Lang Lasalle. Of that amount, approximately $790 billion is in the hospital sector while the remaining $490 billion is in medical office assets. It is estimated that there are 48.6k facilities with 3.4 billion square feet of healthcare real estate, 42% of which are owned by REITs and another 33% held by other private investment vehicles. Much of the digital health investment is meant to make the physical healthcare infrastructure more productive: greater operating efficiencies, greater patient throughput, more relevant personalized care models with better outcomes. As the healthcare system is being pushed to be more distributed to lower cost sites of care, accelerated now by the rapid proliferation of automation and AI capabilities, the potential impact on healthcare infrastructure assets will be profound.
