“Working for Tracy at This Dot has been a dream come true. You would be hard pressed to find someone more driven, encouraging, and willing to do whatever she can for her team. Throughout my time at This Dot, Tracy and I had regular check ins where she'd make sure I had everything I needed to succeed, and would regularly provide feedback and opportunities to grow. Tracy is a huge champion of her team's ideas. She's always willing to consider and foster initiatives from anyone at any skill level within her team. She is incredibly capable of juggling a ton of projects at once. She's assembled a stellar team at This Dot. If you need developers, managers, advocates, or project leads to help you grow your product or assist your team to reach your goals, you'd do well to work with Tracy and her team at This Dot!”

Your audience is eagerly waiting for your presentation. What do you do when the projector malfunctions?
If your projector fails during a presentation, it’s important to stay composed and adaptable. A well-prepared presenter should be able to deliver the content confidently, even without visual aids. Your notes and slides are still in front of you, and your familiarity with the material will carry you through. If the issue is temporary, use the moment to connect with your audience. Share a relevant story, ask an engaging question, or even add a touch of humor—it can make you appear calm and resourceful under pressure. The key is to not let technical hiccups derail your focus or energy. A great presentation is about your delivery, not just the visuals.

An audience member questions your core message during a speech. How do you maintain your composure?
1. Pause and Breathe: Don’t rush to respond. Taking a moment shows confidence and gives you time to think. 2. Acknowledge the Question: Something as simple as, “That’s a fair point—let’s unpack it,” can set a collaborative tone instead of creating tension. 3. Clarify, Don’t Argue: Focus on explaining your perspective rather than defending it. Stay calm and bring it back to your key points. 4. Turn It Into a Conversation: Ask for their perspective. “How have you approached this?” It shows you’re confident enough to engage, not just present. 5. Bring It Back Home: Close by reinforcing your message. Staying composed and focused is how you win the room, not the argument. Challenges happen. How we respond is what sets us apart.
