- [Instructor] SPSS is designed to make your analytical life easy so you can just kick back and get valuable insight from your data. But, sometimes keeping track of all the variations of SPSS feels a little more like this. That's because SPSS has been around a long time and varies in at least four different ways, not counting the operating system you're on. There are different versions, different releases, different licenses, and different interfaces. And I want to talk a little bit about each of these. First, versions. Now, SPSS version one came out in 1968, and then it was PASW from 2009 to 2010. And right now we have SPSS Statistics version 29 released in 2022. But there is also an SPSS Statistics subscription, which is sort of a version-free version. In addition to that, there are different releases of different ways of leveling up what you're able to do.
