T-Mobile has announced its agreement to acquire substantially all of UScellular's wireless operations, including customers, stores, and specified spectrum assets. This acquisition aims to expand T-Mobile's #5G network, particularly in rural areas, providing UScellular customers with better connectivity and access to T-Mobile's value-packed plans and perks. Additionally, T-Mobile customers will benefit from enhanced coverage and performance in areas previously limited. The transaction, valued at approximately $4.4 billion, is expected to close in mid-2025, subject to regulatory approvals. The companies anticipate synergies and cost savings upon integration, with plans to reinvest a portion to enhance consumer choice and competition in the wireless industry.
