Working on open source is hard. We just made it a little easier. Augment is free for open source contributors and maintainers. 🎉 Augment’s deep codebase understanding tears down some of the biggest pains for working on open-source projects– the context you need to contribute and the help you need to make quality PRs. Open source colleagues: it's hard to make time to explain your entire OSS codebase but it sure helps if you want to attract contributions. And some prospective users want to know how things work under the hood. Mutable will do this for you, *for free* Here's an example: https://lnkd.in/gBKZxAVr
Auto Wiki is now free for open source partners, some conditions apply (you must be the owner of the repo), you can apply now by emailing info@mutable.ai with your repo name and github user name Gain an unfair advantage by making it easy for devs to understand your work, open source projects often languish because it's too hard to understand the codebase and make contributions!

You don't need in-depth knowledge of a particular language before starting Open Source Contribution in Projects. Everyone can write code, but the most important thing is to analyse the product workflow. Whenever you set up the codebase in your local, before digging deep into the codebase, try to play with the product. You will surely get some improvements and new feature ideas that can greatly impact the developer or user experience. "Whatever you learn from the community try to contribute again to the community", you will enjoy the journey of Open Source : ) PS: Started from simple if-else condition contributions to countless lines of code in Open Source. #Remote #OpenSource

The free-software movement was born from one frustrated engineer’s simple, rigid philosophy: for the good of the world, all code should be open, without restriction or commercial intervention. Open-source software has come a long way since its rebellious roots: it has transformed the tech industry. Still, its future is very much in flux. https://trib.al/IF0AxoJ

Everyone knows open source is great - it's free, efficient, and reliable. More than all of that though, open source is simply the best way to learn. Open source teaches highly transferable skills that extend beyond the confines of any single company's methodologies. It offers a wide survey of different coding standards, tools, and practices used in an industry. What better homework than engaging with diverse codebases and problem-solving approaches, committing code that is directly used by the community? Unlike proprietary systems, which can be restrictive and tailored to specific organizational needs, open source experience cultivates versatility making developers more marketable and effective in various professional environments. #OpenSource #SoftwareDevelopment #TechSkills #TechCommunity
