The AI unicorn rapidly built a loyal user base through its ability to deliver conversational, narrative responses — and its recent moves to launch a publishing program and enter the advertising space have further positioned it as a Google competitor.

My thoughts on AI engineer Devin? Ever since I gave GitHub’s copilot a run back in ‘21 I have been expecting this although I must say for some reason I expected it to be released earlier. Devin is a fascinating tech and I personally can’t wait to try it out. however, when it comes to killing off software engineering roles (as we also heard about no code tools) I think it may not quite be as perceived. This piece of innovation at best removes a layer of complexity as we often forget that the hardest or most important part of software engineering is not coding but rather creativity and manipulation of real world information and while we wait for the technology to catch up to that, it is also creates further opportunities for engineers to build niches in Ai as regarding maintenance and modelling. At the expense of sounding incomplete I’d round this up by saying that while tech such as Devin may appear to shake things up a bit, in hind sight it actually brings software engineering to a new era and this was always bound to happen.

"Code becomes content. Coders become creators." -- I kept coming back to this idea throughout the day today at #GoogleIO. This is my first time at this event, and it’s been 4 years since my internship here. After OpenAI’s mindblowing upgrades of #GPT4o, I was flying to Mountain View with quite a bit of anxiety. I’ve been somewhat rooting for Google in the AI race, and this last batch of GPT updates felt like they were going to leave folks from Googleplex in the dust. But Google has introduced a truckload of new things today. Sure, Gemini can’t help you with your meditation/breathing (yet). But here are some releases that felt especially exciting to me: 1. Gemini for Workspace (looks like my yearly bookkeeping reconciliation has become much easier); 2. Project Astra (and a mysterious pair of glasses of the gal holding the phone 🤔); 3. No more XML UI editing on Android (where have you been in 2014 when I was suffering with backward-compatible layouts 🤣) 4. Deadly warning for various apps, including Grain, JasperAI, Chegg, pretty much all meal planning apps, and so many more; 5. Project Starline (I’ve been on the lookout for this for a while now. This one seriously feels like magic. You’re not wearing any headset, just sitting in front of a “fancy” TV. Given how far and for how long I’ve been from my family – this product hits very close to home for me). There are plenty more updates out there, written by much more talented writers and journalists, so go check them out. 🙂 Finally, the most impactful conclusion I’ve gotten from today was about the evolution of the engineering workforce. We (and I dare to self-assign an engineering label) are morphing into a brand-new cohort of creators. Creators, whose job is to solve some of the world’s hardest technical problems. Our jobs are not to be replaced, but to be empowered, to increase the velocity of our impact on the world of tomorrow. #empoweringbrightideas P.S. I had heard in life that some incidents or situation change your life or attitude towards life forever but I never imagined I will have the same experience and my life and attitude towards life will change so much in the last 1 year. Over the past year, I’ve learned one of the greatest truths: "Give your best, stay true to your work, but be prepared for anything in life. Nothing is permanent—neither your wins nor your losses." With that mindset, and without any grand future plan, I decided to take a leap of faith and dive into the world of working independently as a Hiring Partner with companies in a contry where I dont speak the native language fluently and without any large connections/network except my previous collegues and team members who have become friends now. I went ahead and registered my own Talent Company and, though the start has been slow and uncertain, I remain grateful for every single call, every single connection, every single role I close, every small win and every single failure too that I made in the last 3 months. It’s been a journey full of ups and downs, but one thing I’ve learned is that we have to keep getting up, even after falling 1,000 times.
