Hello, LinkedIn community. We have a few spots left for our webinar tomorrow, August 14th at noon. We would love to see you there! Details below. I would like to invite you to a free webinar my friend and colleague Kathryn Snyder, PCC, CPCC, PMP, CSM and I are hosting. Join us for an insightful webinar, "Navigating the Valley: Amplifying Resilience Through Community and Skills” on August 14, 2024 from 12-1 PM ET. Ever find yourself thinking, “WTF?!” regarding the state of affairs these days? Maybe you feel lost, hopeless, disconnected, and unsure of where to go from here? You’re not alone. These vibes echo across the board, both on personal and organizational levels. Lots of us are having this experience…why not find our way through together? Led by your trusty guides, Bryan and Kathryn, this journey will take you through the twists and turns of this “valley," where the past is a distant mountain range, the future is uncharted territory, and the present is the liminal space in between. Using this powerful metaphor, we’ll navigate the emotional impact of these challenging times, build meaningful connections, and equip you with practical skills to help you traverse the valley. Expect interactive discussions, engaging exercises, and focused skill-building sessions that are anything but boring. Don’t miss this chance to be in the community and support for the journey ahead. Sign up now, and let's rock the valley together!

FAQ: Why is Common Tide's peer community any more valuable than the ones I'm already in? Answer: While there are many founder communities, they tend to emphasize larger events, webinars, and group activities. At Common Tide, we are focused on enabling founders to provide and receive 1x1 advisory board-level support. This emphasis on personal level connection with your peers separates Common Tide's community from other groups.

"You can’t learn anything when you’re trying to look like the smartest person in the room." I really like this tip from Kim Dallefeld for new speakers at Community Summit - If you don't know the answer, ask the audience! And Heidi Neuhauser said the same, "Don’t be afraid to say “I don’t know” when asked a tough question. You aren’t expected to know everything! When I don’t know an answer, I take that opportunity to ask the attendees..." Being a speaker is not about being the smartest in the room. We can all help each other. I'm prepping now for my session at Summit, "ERP Horror Stories: Lessons to Avoid The Most Common Causes of Implementation Failures" on Monday, October 14 • 2:30 PM - 4:00 PM CT Technically, I am not actually a first time Summit speaker, but it has been so long, I'm taking in tips as a newbie again. Fortunately, my job as a panel moderator is pretty easy since I'm with some VERY experienced speakers - Shannon Mullins, Jennifer Harris, Nirav Shah and Jason Hamm. (I actually think preparing the PPT will be harder than the actual conversation, as these guys will take the conversation and GO!) Anyone else have some good Summit speaker tips? Or session prep tips? #mysummitna #msdyn

Consultants have to stay one step ahead. I spent a potentially embarrassing amount of time in webinars and workshops last year to hone my skills and stay up-to-date with the latest tools and best practices. One event stood out because it delivered an insane amount of value - the Nonprofit Consulting Conference hosted by Holly Rustick, and Amanda Pearce. Why? ✅ Every presentation was fun and packed with actionable information - no nonsense, no fluff. ✅ The virtual energy was so high that the flurry of tips and links added by attendees in the chat was every bit as helpful as the presenter's content. ✅ Interactions felt connective, non-competitive, and supportive, it didn't matter if you were a newbie or a seasoned expert. The overall attitude was - there's plenty of work to go around. And it is absolutely true, there is! My LinkedIn feed changed overnight (for the better) with these connections. I love seeing what my fellow consultants are up to, what they're celebrating, and what they're struggling with. Could you use some practical and social support to improve your business? The 2024 Nonprofit Consulting Conference theme is Optimizing for Success: Where Passion and Profit Meet (see the link in the comments) If you're considering joining, I genuinely hope you take the plunge. I'll be there virtually!

“Are you basking in the glow of unimplemented insights?” I heard this quote at last week's National Speakers Association North Texas Chapter meeting. The simplicity is powerful. It’s conference season, and if you’re like me, I love going to conferences – the energy, the connections, and taking tons of notes! Yet, have you ever asked yourself 30 days later, what action did I take due to attending? It could be one nugget or connection, just one thing - did you explore or implement it? Maybe yes or maybe no! Does anyone else have this issue? We quickly get busy with re-entry into our day-to-day. It's up to each one of us to take action and implement what we learned. Here’s the challenge – What's the one thing you WILL IMPLEMENT? Hold yourself accountable when you attend conferences making your time investment (and money) “worth it”. #conferences #insights #Implementation #changemakers
